Hi - thinking about lowering my bike so my friend can ride it. Anyone have any ideas or tips - cost and difficulty? Thanks
Diamond Powersports makes a lowering link kit for your bike. I think the price is around $180. Thats a starting point anyway. Let me know if you need any more help. Z

Adjustable links seems to work well. You can find them at a bunch of places, but I know Schnitz has them.

With these you can lower it without too much hassle and put it back when you want. Installing them can be a pain, but not too bad. If you want to go lower than that you'll have to drop the forks. Any of this stuff will effect the handling, but I'm sure you knew that part.
If you need help there's help here.

thanks for the help guys - found them on ebay for as low as $90'ish. just trying to think ahead - probably will be buying a new ninja 250 for her to learn on, then eventually letting her ride the 929 [big maybe] depending on her ability/comfort level. that means I finally get to get a new (to me) bike - an RC51 :D

Chung, call me.
too late to call - email sent
Chiung at least get her a 600 to learn on. I think it would have better resale if and when she decides to move up. Either way get the RC-51. I want to try it out
Welcome to Mikes test ride forum. First he rides a triple, now he's after a twin! R-1 getting a little boring?
There's nothing wrong with looking at the menu, it doesn't mean you have to order. I test ride here and there won't hurt.
and... since Greg doesn't know me from Adam I know he won't let me take it for a spin...so I have to live vicariously through Chiung's checkbook. :D
 voyerism at it's best!
if you need help email me, i do this for a living www.naarden.biz. some tricks i tell people when they install them are, 1 to get the bearing out put a small socket the size of the bearing on one side and a large socket on the other side, place the two sockets and original link in a vise and start turning the vise tight, the bearings comes out easy as hell (not everyone has a press). freezing the bearings makes it easier too. I can change my link in my puzzle of an Rr1 in 10 mins from doing it so many damn times (got 5 inchs outa my prototype link!)
